Lyndie chooses to support Volunteerism through her pageant platform.
From Lyndie:
"Volunteering has always been something that was very important to me. At an early age I realized the importance of helping others in our communities. Throughout my life, I have volunteered for various organizations, such as the American Cancer Society, the March of Dimes, Rotary International, the Humane Association, multiple public schools, and various domestic violence shelters. In the past few years, I have worked with the HandsOn Network in Nashville www.hon.org. The HandsOn Network website describes the organization as 'the volunteer-focused arm of Points of Light Institute, is the largest volunteer network in the nation and includes more than 250 HandsOn Action Centers in 16 countries. HandsOn includes a powerful network of more than 70,000 corporate, faith and nonprofit organizations that are answering the call to serve and creating meaningful change in their communities.' What a wonderful way to get involved an make a difference in the lives of others."

AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY. The fight against cancer is a subject close to Lyndie's heart. She has worked with the American Cancer Society in Florida and Tennessee for over 15 years.
"My life has been touched by this terrible disease. My grandfather lost his battle with lymphoma in 2004. Then, my mother was diagnosed with cancer in early 2006. I watched as she went through the testing, the waiting, the worrying, and ultimately the partial removal of her lung.
-
I was completely ignorant to how many types of cancers existed until my mom was diagnosed. The American Cancer Society was my greatest resource in my research.
My close friend, Mike, lost his battle with throat cancer on November 14, 2007. He was a wonderful man and will be deeply missed.
In 2009, my dear friend Jerry passed away from liver cancer. He was the owner of Baxters Wings in Middleburg, Florida which wass one of my favorite places to perform.
We must be more diligent in our fight to cure this terrible disease. I am looking forward to working with the Nashville Relay for Life event again this coming year"

Relay For Life is an overnight event that brings our community together to help support the American Cancer Society and its lifesaving mission to eliminate cancer as a major health problem. The Society works hard every day to prevent cancer and save lives by supporting groundbreaking research, affecting public policies that protect us from cancer, and educating people on how to prevent or detect cancer early. The Society helps people with cancer right here in our own community and our efforts at Relay For Life can help the American Cancer Society to keep working toward a cancer-free future. Please visit the American Cancer Society website at www.cancer.org.
MARCH OF DIMES. Lyndie was a premature baby and nearly didn't survive at birth. The March of Dimes is dedicated to improving the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. www.MarchofDimes.com
